And the translation is, “May the devil make a ladder of your back bones while picking apples in the garden of hell!”  I love how colorful these sayings are.  You really can get a good visual!

Here is just a simple little rainbow.  I know, not too fancy.  I had the idea in my head and figured it was an excellent St. Patrick's Day manicure.  Although, if you decide to do a design like this and want to do all of the colors of the rainbow, make sure you put them in the right order the first time or that you are not a perfectionist and can live with mistake.  Otherwise you end up doing the rainbows again!

This may look simple, but it did take a lot of colors.  The background is China Glaze Kinetic Candy and the clouds are Nina Ultra Pro French White.  The sparkle is provided by China Glaze Fairy Dust.  Now to the rainbow colors in no particular order Finger Paints Spun Sugar, China Glaze Electric Beat, Lemon Fizz,  Def Defying, Papaya Punch, and Wicked Style.  My KC, one of my go to light blues, is getting kind of thick and low which means I may need to hunt down a new one.

I am sure there are many designs like this out there, but it was nice to do some hand painting again.  I have been doing so much stamping that it is nice to know I can still do hand designs.  Also please ignore my broken thumb nail.  It breaks like this sometimes and I didn't want to completely cut it off. . .

31 Nail Art Challenge Take Two Day 26: Water Marbled

This is the last design I am doing before I leave on my trip and I have to say I have been dragging my feet to do this one.  I actually like water marble.  I find it a challenge, but an acceptable one, because even when there are mistakes it still looks incredible.  No one ever really seems to notice the flaws except me.  That being said, it is sooooo messy and time consuming.  I have used tape and I have used petroleum jelly.  Neither really seems to completely take away the mess.  I am fine with cleaning it up, but when you only have it on for a day or less, it hardly seems worth it.  But I did it, and I have to say I am impressed.  I really like how this turned out.  There are some flaws, but really, who does a water marble perfectly, other than

I used China Glaze For Audry, Kinetic Candy, Electric Beat, Liquid Leather, Sunshine Pop, and for the base color White-On-White.

31 Nail Art Challenge Take Two Day 21: Galaxy

Some of blog posts I seem to give an elaborate set-up and then others . . . not so much.  This will fall into the not-so-much category.

I saw The Daily Nail do this design and I thought if I was going to do a galaxy design on my own nails for the first time lets do something different and awesome.  I like it.  I do, I am just not sure how much.  Can you tell it is supposed to be the moon and the galaxy in the background?  I hope you can. . .

I used a lot of colors, just like any other galaxy manicure.  The starry galaxy color was Sephora by OPI If You've Got It, Haunt It.  The other colors were all China Glaze.  I used Pelican Gray, White-On-White, Concrete Catwalk, Happy Go Lucky, Electric Beat, Urban-Night, and Wicked Style.  Whew!  That is a finger full!

A few more shots ending with thumbs.  The last thumb, my right one, I think is the best nail.  If you have any ideas for what I can do next time that might make this a bit better I would love the advice.

The other ladies' manicures are out of this world and you better freeze time to check them out!  (If you get that reference, than you get a gold star in heaven!)

31 Nail Art Challenge Take Two Day 13: Artwork

I am so proud of this one!  It turned out really good.  This is one of those designs I saw when I first started doing nail art, but thought I would never be able to do.  Well, I tackled it and I love it!  The design and a tutorial came from Cutepolish.  Next time I think I want to try another designer's and eventually have it look more like the original painting by Van Gogh.

So, I used China Glaze Blue Paradise, Electric Beat, White-On-White, Happy Go Lucky, and Liquid Leather.

31 Nail Art Challenge Take Two Day 11: Tribal Print

I have never done a tribal print, nor did I have any desire to.  I am not really a fan of the look on me.  I like other people's, but it really isn't me.  Plus, it looked so intricate and difficult that trying to do it when I don't really care for it seemed pointless.  Now I have another reason to love this challenge.  It was a bit hard, more in that I had to take my time and be very patient.

I went looking for other people's designs to mimic, thinking that would be easiest, but then I decided to just go ahead and let myself just do it as I went.

It looks like an Easter egg due to the colors I chose, but I am really proud of this!  I used OPI Don't Talk Bach To Me, Sparrow Me The Drama, China Glaze Electric Beat, and Chocodisiac.

Blue gold!

I while back I received several polishes from a friend.  They were all ones that she and her daughter no longer use and she thought I might like them.  I figured a free way to feed my addiction hobby was a good thing and so kindly thanked her for the wondeful gift.  As I went throught them there were a couple of OPI polishes and one day I was bored and thought I would look up one of them online and see what other people had done with it.  You can't imagine my shock to learn that OPI DS Glamour was a highly sought after color.

It really is a very pretty blurple duo chrome.  This pictures do not do it justice.  I couldn't leave it completly alone so after a couple of days of wear time I decided to add the clouds in Finger Paints Paper Mâchè and China Glaze Electric Beat.  I really like the subtle accent nail, that way you don't miss out on the gorgeous color.

I am so grateful for the gift and I intended to use the colors as often as I can, which I do use them from time to time.  Usually if it is Cover Girl it came from this gifted stash.

TIHNAC #8

The theme for today is witches.  I was inspired by two different artists and decided to incorporate both ArcadiaNailArt and Nails In Nippon.  Well, mine did not turn out as well.  First of all, it is a lot harder to draw a silhouette then I thought it would be.  (That is what the ring finger is supposed to be, a silhouette of a witch)  Secondly, China Glaze Mummy May I was not the best choice as the background color.  It made everything too dark.  Oh well, you can win the all.  I did learn a few things and I had fun, that is all that matters, right?  Right?

Dotting tools were my friend though all of this, of and a detail brush.  Besides Mummy May I, I used China Glaze Tree Hugger, Electric Beat, Glitter Goblin, Hey Sailor, Liquid Leather, and of course Finger Paints Paper Mâchè.

The other problem was squeezing in time to take the pictures.  Consequently I am losing daylight supper fast.

All in all, it wasn't an epic fail, I just felt I could have done better if I had the time to do it again.  Maybe next year.
