12 Days of Christmas: Holiday Song

Today's theme was Holiday Song.  Originally I thought of Silver Bells, but then Little Town of Bethlehem came to mind and I did some image searches and found this.

There are a lot of city scape nail designs out there and I decided to try my hand at them and use it as a way to suggest Bethlehem.

I know this looks messy, but the problem is I should not have used China Glaze Hanging In The Balance.  I love the color, but it stains something fierce.  Well, if you've done a gradient before, you know it gets rather messy.  I used nails polish remover, I scrubbed, I slept with lotion and gloves, I scrubbed some more, and used more nail polish remover.  Yeah, I cleaned it up as best as I could without taking it off completely.  So then lesson for you is, only use this color in controlled, small amounts.

I also used China Glaze Spontaneous, White-On-White, Fairy Dust, Happy Go Lucky, and Liquid Leather.  Then the star is some loose glitter I bought on ebay.

I hope you can see the starlight shinning down.  I think the star and its light are my favorite part.

Check out the other participants if you have a chance they are some amazing artists.

31 Nail Art Challenge Take Two Day 2: Flag

I love my family and we all have little quirks, or rather a lot of little quirks. . . each.  One of them is my Dad's love and affiliation with Scotland.  In truth, he is half Scottish on his Mother's side, but sometimes I think he thinks he came directly off the boat.  Well, in honor of my Dad I give you St. Andrew's Cross.

I have done the Union Jack before, so I wanted to something a little differently.  When my loose glitter came in the mail from Ebay I knew exactly what I was going to do.

I used China Glaze Hanging In The Balance.  I love this color, by the way.  Then the cross was in silver loose glitter.  It is simple, but I really like the effect.

Just my thumb, in the shade and an extra shot.

Don't forget to wave at the other participants!

I Feel Blue

Honestly I don't.  If you had this color on your nails, you wouldn't either!  Introducing, from The Cirque du Soleil Collection, China Glaze Hanging In The Balance and Whirled Away!

Can I tell you I love this color.  I know I say that a lot, but I wouldn't buy the colors if I didn't love them.  Getting WA on my nails was a little difficult, however I don't know if that is the polish or my lack of experience with polishes like this one.  I have seen gobs of indie polishes and have never taken the leap to buy one.  They always seem rather expensive and I have a hard time swallowing nine plus dollars for a polish (no Butter London either).  This seems on WA seems on trend with the indie ones.

The only real bad thing I can say for these polishes is the removal.  Getting the glitter off was like pulling teeth and HITB stained my nails.  But they still are so very gorgeous!

Still pretty in the shade!

Hello Thumb-ilina!  Hope you enjoyed the eye candy!
